Benefits of OmegaLand Educator
High fidelity simulator reproduces process behavior
OmegaLand Educator uses a dynamic simulator based on rigorous physical models of chemical engineering. The simulator reproduces changes in flow rate, pressure, and temperature in processes affected by operations at high fidelity. Additionally, you can learn about process behavior in a graphically easy-to-understand environment.
A highly effective learning environment
The learning environment provided by OmegaLand Educator is designed to enable "understanding, experience, and verification" for all applications to achieve high learning effectiveness. Each application is provided with materials, supplementary materials for instructors, and workbooks for trainees according to the learning theme. Additionally, exercises are provided that allow trainees to experience learning items using simulators and check their understanding.
- Understanding --- theory through instructors and self-study
- Experience --- Hands-on exercises using simulators
- Verification --- Checking comprehension using simulators
Covering everything from mastering principles and industry-specific operations
OmegaLand Educator simulator consists of the "Operating Principles Series" to learn principles, the "Basic Units Series" to learn unit operations, and the "Industry Series" to learn industry-specific operations. In the "Operating Principles Series," you can learn process principles and basic equipment operations that do not depend on differences in the workplace through the equipment and basic operations on the manufacturing site. Additionally, by operating combinations of equipment simulated in the workplace, trainees can acquire adaptability tailored to process conditions. In the "Basic Units Series," you can master the basic plant operations using general-purpose process units. In the "Industry Series," you can understand how this knowledge is applied in actual plants through industry-specific processes and learn practically.
Investigation of the Cause of the Abnormality
The essence of plant operation is to consider the meaning of plant equipment, understand the underlying "principles", and further acquire the skills to handle the challenges that happen in real plants. In OmegaLand Educator's "Basic Unit Series," you can trigger typical abnormalities that can occur with actual equipment. Based on process behavior, trainees acquire the ability to identify the causes of abnormalities through a series of thinking --- so-called 'scientific thinking' --- identifying problems → predicting → observing → acting → consideration.
Supports various learning styles
An environment prepared for your learning style
OmegaLand Educator is designed with a system designed to accommodate various learning styles. In particular, the Enterprise version allows you to register participants, assign course items, manage course history, and course results, making it possible to efficiently build education plans.
- Group learning led by an instructor
- Each trainee can operate the simulator. It is also possible for coordinated operation by multiple trainees. The actions of all trainees can be followed from the instructor's monitor screen.
- Learn at your own pace
- Trainees can select the practical items they wish to study and engage in self-study.
- Supported personalized learning
- Instructors can remotely review trainees’ operations and support learning via messaging.
- Learning as a team
- Trainees can do previews together with their peers in the training room before group study sessions.
List of Features
| Features | Feature Overview |
|---|---|
| Loading initial conditions | At the start of learning, the simulator's start state corresponding to the learning theme is called the initial condition. This function loads the initial condition into the simulator. |
| Start/Pause | Start or pause the simulator. |
| Timescale Changes | Change the simulation execution speed to 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 2, 4, 8x, and so on. |
| Snapshot/Stepback | You can temporarily save a state during training to memory. (Snapshot) You can restore that state as needed. (Stepback) This allows you to return to the same state and repeat the learning. You can also save the screenshot as the default state*. |
| Replay Rating* | This feature allows reproducing the operations performed exactly after finishing a session. Instructors can review the learning content together with the participants. |
| Scenario Selection* | Depending on the learning theme, preset operations (scenarios) can be selected. |
| User Management* | Assign trainees and instructors according to each application that can be launched and each scenario that can be taken. |
| See history* | It is possible to view your learning history (such as scenario course history, operations, evaluation results, etc.). Administrators can view the learning history of all trainees. Instructors can view their learning history, and trainees can also view their own course history. |
| Issuing Certificate* | If a pass/fail judgment is set for a completed scenario, you can issue, print, and save your certificate. |
| Remote Use* | If assigned as a system user, learning history and course scenarios can be accessed via a browser on a computer connected to the server. Instructors can refer to operations and learning history remotely, allowing them to change and operate the simulator remotely. |
*This feature is only available on the Enterprise version.
