What is the Process Control Pack?
The Process Control Pack consists of software based on a dynamic simulator as the main teaching material, together with supplementary materials such as workbooks that help trainees better understand the course content and instructor slides developed so that instructors can teach the material clearly. Taking as its themes flow rate, liquid level, pressure, and temperature, which are typical controlled variables at petroleum and chemical production sites, the pack allows trainees to learn intuitively, through simulator exercises, how these variables are automatically controlled.

In this pack, trainees learn the concepts of feedback control and feedforward control from the fundamentals, and also learn the role of each parameter in PID control, together with tuning methods such as the ultimate sensitivity method and the transient response method.
Target Users and Expected Benefits
This pack aims to help staff in production (plant operators, process engineers) deepen their understanding of instrumentation. It is also intended mainly for staff in maintenance departments who are engaged in instrumentation-related work but have no specialized training in the field. Target users are:
- Those who want to deepen their understanding of PID control equipment at the production site
- Those who want to deepen their understanding of the role of PID parameters and how to determine them, or who are interested in improving controllability
