What is the Compressor Pack?

The Compressor Pack consists of software based on a dynamic simulator as the main teaching material, together with supplementary materials such as workbooks that help trainees better understand the course content and instructor slides developed so that instructors can teach the material clearly. For compressors, which are often supplied as packaged units by vendors, trainees deepen their understanding of the equipment, including its auxiliary facilities.

Target Processes

By changing operating conditions through simulator operation, trainees gain an experiential understanding of how compressor performance is expressed and what it means, as well as how to read performance curves in relation to operating conditions, thereby consolidating their knowledge.

Target Users and Expected Benefits

This pack is intended mainly for staff at production sites that use compressors (plant operators, process engineers) and for those engaged in maintenance work on machinery and electric motors in maintenance departments. It is intended for those with an interest in the following. Target users are:

  • Those who want to learn how compressor capacity is understood and evaluated
  • Those who want to learn the thermodynamics of gases and the mechanical engineering of compressors experientially, using subject matter modeled on actual machines
  • Those who want to understand the roles of the auxiliary equipment making up a compressor system through manual operation
