OmegaLand: Reinstallation of USB Key Driver

As a cause of unsatisfactory performance of a module in OmegaLand, a poorly recognized USB key may be mentioned. It can be due to the improperly installed USB key driver or a file replaced in the driver. Under such circumstances, there is no need to reinstall the whole OmegaLand, but you may reinstall the USB key driver only.

General Notes
  • When you install or uninstall the USB key driver or any software which is related to OmegaLand, remove the USB key from the USB port. Before you connect the USB key again, be sure that the software is installed and PC is restarted once, and that logon is completed.
  • Connect the USB key to the directly connected or stable USB port of the PC as much as possible; otherwise, the power supply can become unstable.
Driver Reinstallation

Please follow the procedures below to reinstall the driver.

  1. Check the “OmegaLand’s user”. The “OmegaLand’s user” is the logon account who installed the OmegaLand. For more information, see the OmegaLand Installation Manual.
  2. Confirm that the “OmegaLand’s user” belongs to the Administrators. If it does not belong to the Administrators, add it to the group.
  3. Perform logon by the “OmegaLand’s user” which belongs to the Administrators.
  4. Uninstall the Sentinel System Driver (and Sentinel System Driver Installer, if any). Uninstall it on “Programs and Features” on the control panel (or “Add/Remove Programs” in Windows XP). After completing the un-installation, restart the PC.
  5. To execute, double click on install_driver.bat in \sentinel\tool of . ( is the installation destination specified when OmegaLand is installed. By default, it is C:\Program Files\Omega Simulation\Visual Modeler.) Then, the USB key driver will be installed. After completing the installation, restart the PC.
