V2.7 SP2 has been released

The new version, OmegaLand V2.7 SP2 (consisting of Visual Modeler V2.7 SP2), has been released. Major functions of the latest version upgrade are as follows.

Functional Enhancement of Visual Modeler

Visual Modeler V2.7 SP2 which is the core function of OmegaLand contains the following new features.

Improvements to Standard Unit Models
  • The following process units have been newly added:
    - A simplified reactor without holdup for which the conversion ratio can be specified
    - A flash drum reactor with liquid phase reactions
    - A driver unit that models the power source of rotating machinery.
    - A shaft unit to connect power sources such as gas turbines with load rotating machinery such as compressors.
  • In the tray distillation tower, tray and weir types have been added and liquid flow rate calculation have been added according to these types. Also flooding and weeping calculation function have been added.
  • A function has been added to valve units so that the actuation speed of opening and closing times may be specified separately.
  • An absolute value display function has been added for differential pressure gauge and differential thermometer units.
Database module (DB)
  • The expanded unit name enhancement of Visual Modeler is supported.
Graphic Module (GRAPHIC)
  • The expanded unit name enhancement of Visual Modeler is supported.
  • Functions of OmegaLand components have been expanded or adjusted: Input display, graph, controller, instrument, valve, slider and PID faceplate.
  • Trend component has been enhanced: Y-axis scroll and zoom, new layout with/without legend.
  • The navigation menu in the Runtime banner can display aliases and supports shortcuts.
  • The explorer view of the navigation panel supports grouping of the files.
  • The function of alarm summary display has been expanded.
  • Background color of graphic can be specified, the function of window operation and use of custom faceplate have been enhanced.
  • The function to start malfunctions from GRAPHIC has been enhanced.
Instructor Took Kit (ITK)
  • "Fixed Value" option has been added as a malfunction for flow meter.
  • The name of an initial condition can contain spaces.
  • An option has been added to so as not to query to save changes even ITK setting has been modified after the simulator is stopped.
  • Options can be specified when instructor GRAPHIC is started.
  • A function has been added to protect the definition of the malfunction, instructor variables, evaluation, and scenario tab pages.
  • The function of the self-training execution window has been enhanced.
Expanded Support for Operation Environment
  • Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 have been added to the list of OS that are supported.
  • Visual Studio 2015 has been added to the list of C compilers that are supported.
  • The following OS are no longer supported: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 (prior to R2).
